1. You will write five essays and complete 7 study sheets (number of study sheets subject 
     to change.)

5. Include at least five research references from five different sources in the body of the essay cited in
    MLA format.  "Separate sources" means do not use five citations from the same publication.
6. Have a works cited page at the end of the essay which lists each reference used in the body of the
    composition as shown in Trimmer on p. 29.
7. Dictionaries and encyclopedias do not count as research sources.
8. Do your research in the databases provided in this syllabus.
Of the first three essays you will write, the one with the lowest grade will be dropped with no penalty.
